My card reader for my camera's memory card is now broken so I'll have to write what I'm up to. I am in Kerala now and I love it! I flew from Kathmandu to Mumbai and then went to Ganeshpuri which is about a 2 hour drive north/ east of Mumbai. I stayed in Ganeshpuri for 3 and 1/2 weeks. There I volunteered with Prasad Chikitsa and I spent a lot of time in the temples. On December 8th I took a train to Hyderabad for Raashi's wedding. I spent about 10 days with Raashi and her family and friends. Her wedding was in the town of Srisailam which is famous for the Shiva temple there. The wedding happened over two days and then the reception was in Hyderabad. It was a huge event with lots of ceramonies and many many guests. Amazing and fun!
After the wedding Saras- Raashi's mom, Pooja- Raashi's sister and Christian- Raashi's friend and I went to Chennai by train and then to Bokkapuram which is next to Mudumalai National Park. We stayed there for three nights and relaxed, walked in the jungle and drove through the park. Yesterday Christian and I took the bus and then the train to Kochi in Kerala. After having spent some time in southern India now I have noticed that it is more laid back than Norther India. Kerala is unlike any other part of India that I have been in. The buildings look more European and most of the men wear lungis.
I am really having a great time on this trip!! I do miss you all though and I look forward to seeing you when I get home. I'll try to get more pictures up soon. Love to you!!
